A function is a relation where for every value in the domain, there is a unique value in the range. A 1 to 1 function is a function whose inverse is also a function, or a function that has a unique x for each y AND a unique y for each x. This is an important distinction

Definitions & Properties of Functions

• Vertical line test: any vertical line passes a function only once
• Finding roots: set equation = 0, then solve for x
• Forms: graph, list, equation, function
• Types: even, odd, increasing, decreasing
