In this lesson, our instructor Evren Edler gives an introduction to beat detective. He starts by discussing the three ways to change timing and then moves on the discuss some functions of beat detective: edit smoothing, drum roll clip, move to grib point, where it's located, operations, selection, detection, tempo, event menu and other features.
Beat Detective: it is an
alternative way of conforming audio to the tempo of a Pro Tools
session. Unlike Elastic Audio, Beat Detective does not use “Time
Compression / Expansion.”
It sometimes may introduce
glitches where the clips have been separated, but the “edit
smoothing” capability will smooth out those separations with
