When the school first opened, the majority of parents were very happy with the small school atmosphere that was more like home. Over the last few years, there have been a few complaints that the school is losing its “homey” feel and turning more into a school. The small class size is still the same and the teachers are very dedicated. Most parents are very happy with the progress their children are making at the school and enjoy attending school. A few parents mentioned that there are a few bullies in the school, but the school is working on this issue.
When it comes to the results of the California Standards Tests, students at Academy of Personalized Learning had a variety of results. with 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders being below state averages in all exams. Fifth grade results were average with science but below average in other tests. Sixth graders were above average in English Language Arts, but below average in other classes. 7th and 8th graders were below average in all classes except for Algebra I where 8th graders met state standards. 9th grade was above average in all tests while 10th and 11th graders were below average in all tests
It would be best to learn more about the curriculum and the results of the exams since they are up and down according to the grade level before enrolling your child.
