One of the successful elementary schools in Anchorage, Aquarian Charter School is a K-6 school that exposes students to a joyous environment filled with music, theater and art. The stress-free mode of education boosts achievement levels.  With 375 students enrolled and with a waiting list of more than 600, the school has been operating at the maximum student capacity for the past six years.

Having begun in 1997, ACS has been performing well over the years. It focuses special attention on identifying and rectifying areas that need improvement.  The school building where it now resides has been upgraded, making it suitable and adequate for the current requirement of increased classrooms and student populace.

Through a differentiated learning model, instruction in academic areas is tailored for each student individually. A Special Education Instructor is on hand to help students who do not perform at acceptable proficiency levels. Teachers create a learning profile for every single student and base their materials and teaching to suit their needs. Students have the option of choosing the same-age or multiage classrooms.

ACS has given top performance consistently in the 90^th percentile for both arts and mathematics.  It has accomplished the goal of improving overall science scores and continues to do so.  Spanish, technology, music, art and physical education balance the overall education. Academic contests, basket ball and band are part of the school activities.
