Arizona Agribusiness and Equine Center – Mesa Campus Review


The Arizona Agribusiness and Equine Center opened their Mesa Campus, also known as Red Mountain, in 1997 for students in 9th through 12th grades. The school prides itself on being a highly recognized charter school, preparing students for an amazing beginning in Agribusiness. On average, the school has 380 students enrolled per year.

Various courses and programs available at the Mesa Campus include Spanish, Computer room, college preparation, community college classes, college preparatory programs, and SAT/ACT preparatory classes. Extra curricular activities offered at this campus include band, orchestra, choir, drama, photography, and yearbook.

The Arizona Agribusiness and Equine Center Mesa Campus has won awards for the excellence, the Top 10 Phoenix School, and Excelling School.

The main feature of this school is that it allows students to earn college credit while still in high school. The average student upon graduation has 30 to 45 transferable college credits with some receiving an Associates Degree at graduation from high school.

Parents and students have great reviews about the staff and teachers at the school. The school provides exceptional teachers that are devoted to their students and listen to the concerns of parents. Teachers are close to their students and work to ensure that every child can receive a quality education, even with one on one instruction when necessary.

Students and parents alike are thrilled with the opportunity of earning college credits while attending high school. This helps ensure their success for the future in their given field of interest.

As for performance, the Arizona Agribusiness and Equine Center Mesa Campus 10th graders took the AIMS exam which is a state test measuring the knowledge of students to learn if they are meeting the standards set forth by the state. In reading, 90% met or exceeded the standards with the state average at 78%; in science 76% passed while, the state average was at 42%; in writing 77% passed with the state average being 68%; and in math 64% passed with the state average being 60%. In all course exams, the students at this school meet or exceeded state standards across the board.
