Aspire California College Preparatory Academy opened in 2005 in Berkeley to provide personalized education plans to students in 9th through 12th grades. The school ensures students receive the skills needed to achieve academic success all the way into their college years. Berkeley is part of the Aspire Public Schools, which is rated among the top performing schools in the US. The school has bee providing low-income families with a quality education option for years.

Every student attending the Aspire network of schools are receiving the skills required to enter a college or university upon high school graduation. One of the programs that is receiving high marks in the education industry is the College for Certain education, which is providing around 12,000 students with the instruments needed to succeed. The school are 85% Black and Latino with 80% of student coming from low-income families.

The Aspire California College Preparatory Academy uses a variety of teaching methods that are used in all Aspire Schools, which include explicit instruction, apprenticeship, inquire, project based instruction, problem solving, distributed practice, and massed practice. Along with core subjects, the school offers dance, drawing, soccer, cross-country, basketball, cheerleading, newspaper, student government, yearbook, community service, and debate. The vocational program available is technology.

Students enjoy attending the school where they are respected and are given every opportunity to excel. Teachers listen and work with each student on an individual basis. Parents expressed that their children are doing much better after enrolling in Aspire California College Preparatory Academy. Teachers are very dedicated to their students and helping them succeed. The atmosphere at the school is one that is charismatic and enjoyable even though the school is strict and will not tolerate bullying.

The California Standards Tests results have students at Aspire California College Preparatory Academy above average in most grade levels and across all courses.
