Beginning Academy opened in 2005 and provides an education to students in kindergarten through 5th grades. The school offers accelerated courses that ensure all students are ready for their upcoming years in middle and high school. The school has an average enrollment of 120 students per year, which allows a nurturing and more personal environment where students can excel.
Parents are very pleased with the overall school stating that staff and teachers are attentive to the needs of the students on a personal level. As well as providing a nurturing environment, the curriculum offers a skill based learning system that helps each student succeed. Students enjoy attending the school, which helps parents realize the school is doing a great job at keeping students excited about learning.
In the state of Arizona, students are required to participate in the AIMS tests that measure their mastering skills of core subjects. Beginning Academy students did take the exam but not all results are available at this time. The results that are available show that in reading, 83% of 3rd graders at Beginning Academy passed or exceeded the exam with the state average of students in Arizona at 76%, in writing 75% with the state at 79%, and in math 84% with the state at 68%.
The tests results show that students at Beginning Academy when compared to other 3rd graders attending public schools in Arizona are doing better in most core subjects, which says the school is on the right track for providing a quality education.
