Bridges Academy is a public charter school for students in 7th and 8th grades opening in 2010. The school provides an excellent learning environment that ensures the success of students academically, socially, and athletically. The school ensures that upon graduation from Bridges Academy students will be able to enter any high school in California while qualifying for advanced placement courses. Students are treated with respect and are provided with a safe learning environment.

Along with core subjects, Bridges Academy offers extra curricular activities including drama, painting, sculpture, chorus, photography, film production, computer arts, and band. Sports offered include basketball, badminton, baseball, cheerleading, gymnastics, football, physical education classes, softball, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, track, volleyball, track, and wrestling. Other programs include yearbook, science & technology, community service, multimedia, student council, and academic contests. The vocational program offered is technology.

Most parents had positive remarks concerning Bridges Academy expressing that the school has dedicated teachers and staff along with great programs that instill responsibility in students. Students expressed that teachers are very helpful and work with each student independently to ensure they understand their schoolwork and can do their best. Students are also very happy with all the activities offered.

The Academic Performance Index showed the school had growth in academic performance from 719 to 732. The California Standards Tests showed the percentage of students that passed the exams were below state average in all courses, however, the previous year the tests scores were mainly 100% of the students passing the majority of exams in both grades.

With the comments of parents and students, the school is doing a great job of providing students with the educational tools needed to succeed. On the other hand, the California Standards Tests dropped quite a bit. It would be a good idea to ask questions about recent changes before enrolling your child.
