The Community Charter Early College High School is part of Partnerships to Uplift Communities, which strives to develop charter schools in densely populated community as well as in areas that have an overcrowding in the schools or low achieving schools so students can achieve success and receive a quality education. The school offers students the opportunity to take college classes while working toward receiving their high school diploma.
Along with core subjects, Community Charter Early College High School offers physical education classes, basketball, soccer, golf, and softball. The art classes taught at the schools vary but being a part of the Partnerships to Uplift Communities you can expect classes such as media arts, photography, film production, theatre, music, dance, and visual arts.
Parents like the opportunity the Community Charter Early College High School is providing their children. The curriculum is challenging and with the ability to take college courses at the same time, it is a wonderful school. Students really enjoy going to the school and stated that the teachers are very helpful. Many love the idea of taking college courses at the same time, which is helping them achieve their dreams.
The Academic Performance Index showed academic growth from 803 to 838. The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades. The percentage of students passing the exams was above average across all grade levels and courses, except for Algebra courses, which were below average.
The California High School Exit Exam tests 10th graders mastering skills in English language arts and mathematics. The percentage of students passing the exams was 89% in English Language Arts and 98% in math, both above state averages.
With the comments of students and parents along with the results of the exams, the school is providing students with the educational tools needed to become a productive member of their community and to receive a quality college education.
