Da Vinci Design High School opened in 2009 to provide students in 9th and 10th grades with a challenging college prep curriculum as well as dual enrollment in college classes.
Students that attend Da Vinci Design High School are becoming prepared for careers in digital media, architecture, industrial design, engineering design, and product design along with other employment opportunities that require skills in technology, science, and art. The curriculum used is project based and hands on to provide students with a more in-depth learning experience.
Core classes are important, however, Da Vince Design High School offers seminar classes that allow students to learn more than just the basics including product & industrial design, illustration, web programming, toy making, design industry competitions, fashion design, and game design.
The school does not offer any extra curricular activities, sports, or student clubs at this time.
The majority of parents expressed that the school, staff, and teachers are amazing. The entire staff at the school is completely dedicated to ensure that each student has the resources and tools needed to succeed. Students really love the project based curriculum and the teachers that help them when needed. A few parents did complain that communication with some teachers is not what they would like to see.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.
The percentage of students passing the exams at Da Vinci Design High School was up and down quite a bit. Examples include the percentage of 10th graders that passed the chemistry exam was 10% with the state average at 51% and in World History 81% with the state average at 46%.
The California High School Exit Exam had the percentage of 10th graders passing the English Language Arts exam at 91% with the state average at 83% and in math 90% passed with the state average at 84%.
The school is doing a very good job of providing the necessary tools for students to succeed. The school is strict and expects students to do their part in order to excel. To ensure the learning environment is right for your child you should visit the school.
