Desert Rose Academy Charter School opened in 2000 for students in 9th through 12th grades as an alternative to public education. The school offers individualized, challenging, and self paced coursework. The curriculum centers on providing techniques and strategies to help students control their own educational future or be prepared to join the workforce upon graduation.
Desert Rose Academy Charter School offers not only the skills required to graduate high school, but provides the skills for students to be ready for the transition to college as well as explore various career choices. In order to graduate from high school in the state of Arizona all students must complete the state credit requirements as well as pass the series of AIMS test in writing, math, and reading.
Students and parents agree the school provides a quality education and treats each student with respect and helps each student to achieve their goals. Students are happy to attend school and love the way they are able to work at their own pace with caring teachers available when needed. For students that work hard, credits can be earned much faster than a regular public school.
Students at Desert Rose Academy Charter School participated in the AIMS series of tests. Percentages of students that passed or exceeded the standards of the exam as well as the percentages of students across the state are listed below.
In reading, 51% of 10th graders passed or exceeded the exam with the state average at 78%, in science 13% with the state at 42%, 35% with the state at 68%, and in math 10% with the state at 60%.
Even though the reviews are positive, with the low AIMS results it would be in your interest to visit the school and learn more about the students and the curriculum prior to enrolling your child.
