e-Institute at Metro Center Review

e-Institute at Metro Center is a public charter school that opened in 2008 providing services to students in 10th through 12th grades. The school is entirely completely computer based. This alternative to public education gives students the opportunity to work at their own pace. This aids students that may be behind on credits or have struggled with some courses. Teachers and advisors are available to help students that may need extra attention to achieve their goals.

e-Institute at Metro Center offers the same curriculum seen at other e-institute campuses that offer remedial course studies, guided practice, educational assessment, and enhancement course studies. Classes are held in 2 4-hour session during Monday through Friday.

Feedback is provided immediately for students after each assignment as well as feedback to allow them to know if they are staying on their schedule and on track for graduation.

The curriculum offered at e-Institute at Metro Center includes Language Usage, Building Vocabulary, Civics, Social Sciences, Sociology, Math Skills 1 & 2, Pre-Algebra, Real World Math, Elements of Reading 1 thru 3, Elements of Writing 1 thru 3, Cooperative Education/Work Experience, and Physical Education.

Parents and students both express the school is wonderful as it provides a way for students to achieve graduation even when behind on credits. Teachers are caring and helpful. The curriculum is challenging and provides the necessary skills to future education or to join the workforce upon graduation.

In the state of Arizona to graduate from high school all students in public educational facilities including charter schools must pass or exceed the standards of the AIMS series of tests. Percentages of students that passed or exceeded the exam along with averages of students across the state that passed or exceeded the exam are listed below.

In math, 26% of 10th graders passed or exceeded the exam with the state average at 60%, in reading 50% with the state at 78%, science 18% with the state at 24%, and in writing 38% with the state at 68%.
