Edu-Prize opened in 1995 as a year round charter school for students in kindergarten through 8th grades in Gilbert. The school utilizes a variety of activities to help students learn in multi-age classrooms with real world products that will help them develop the skills needed for an ever changing world. On average the school has an enrollment of 1150 students per year.
Unlike most schools, Edu-Prize offers several different facilities on their campus including a computer lab, auditorium, greenhouse, garden, gym, learning lab, music room, multi-purpose room, library, science lab, performance stage, outdoor lab, and a playground.
Along with the basic educational courses, Edu-Prize offers extra curricular activities the students can participate in such as computer animation, band, choir, instrumental music lesson, drama, and painting, along with a few student clubs like student council, National Honor Society, chess club, and yearbook. Sports offered at the school include physical education and martial arts. Languages taught include French, Latin, and Spanish.
Reviews by parents are very mixed with some on both sides of the fence. Some parents expressed the school is not open minded and refused snacks to kindergartens for misbehaving. On the other hand, even parents with a few negative comments expressed the school offers a quality curriculum, fun field trips, and a great learning environment.
