Glacier High School Charter opened in 2002 for students in grades 9th through 12th. The school focuses on a core curriculum and goes above and beyond with college preparatory courses available. At Glacier High School Charter, students are offered the best of both worlds combining with the greatest aspects of home school instruction as well as school based instruction.

The focus here is core subjects, but Glacier High School Charter also has a variety of extra curricular courses for students. One of the most unique courses is underwater robotics where robots are built each year to compete against one another. There is a community service course that provides students with the opportunity to volunteer at Central Valley Home School to help the secretaries, tutor other students, and so much more.

Glacier High School Charter is highly regarded by parents because of its unique fusion of home school learning and traditional classroom learning. Students love the robotics program. That gives them a chance to show their creativity and individuality as well as working together with other students.

The Academic Performance Index showed a decrease from 759 to 737. The statewide goal is 800.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades. 9th grade students passed the Earth Science at 42% with the state average at 39% while the result for 10th graders was 65% for the Science exam with the state at 53%.

Every year the 10th grade students are required to take the California High School Exit Exam, which tests them in English as well as math. 88% was the result for the English exam with the state at 83% and math results were at 100% as compared to 84%.
