High Tech Middle opened in 2003 for students in grades 6th through 8th. The focus of High Tech Middle is to prepare students for life in high school. The curriculum is challenging but very rewarding. Being prepared for the future with your education is a core value taught to all students.

Alongside core subjects students are given a variety of extracurricular classes to keep them busy and focused on team participation. Computer arts, orchestra, video/film production, dance, ceramics/sculpture, drawing/painting, theater/drama, Japanese, Spanish, technology vocational programs, science, community service, radio, yearbook, student council, community service and academic contests are available. Athletic classes include cross country, ultimate Frisbee, golf, baseball, fencing and swimming.

Students at High Tech Middle love their teachers because they are young and fun. The classes are interesting. Parents know the curriculum is challenging, but like the results and they say, the teachers are amazing.

The Academic Performance Index showed an academic growth of 815 to 828. The state average is at 800.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.

The majority of the test results for High Tech Middle students were above state averages in all grades and subjects.
