Hope Academy Charter opened in 2011 for grades Kindergarten through 12th. The school focuses on each student individually. The curriculum is based upon the California standards with the basis of holistic education for all students. They do one on one meetings with teachers and small groups to ensure school wide success.
Besides core subjects small group activities are offered. These include poetry, film investigation, fitness club, computer journalism, chess club, art club, home economics club, new parents club and drama club.
Parents love the diversity of this school with a variety of clubs and dedicated teachers to move the learning process along. Students really enjoy the new way they are learning away from the traditional school setting.
The Academic Performance Index is not available at this time. The California statewide goal is 800.
The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.
The results of the California Standards Tests and the California Exit Exam were not available at this time.
Since the results of the exams were not available, it would be a good idea to talk with administration to learn if the school is performing within the average range.
