International Commerce High School – Phoenix Review

The International Commerce High School opened in 2007 in Phoenix for students in 9th through 12th grades. The school is for adult high school students that provide occupational education, the knowledge to enter the workforce, or enter post secondary educational facilities.

The school is known for being a Humanities and Sciences High School offer challenging accelerated programs in language arts, world languages, natural sciences, math, social studies, and literature. Students are expected to meet all state graduation requirements and are not allowed to take electives until these requirements are met.

Students enrolled in the school express just how helpful the teachers are to helping each student achieve their goals and graduate high school. The class sizes are small and the teachers make learning fun and interesting. Parents are very pleased with the curriculum that has helped their students succeed where other schools were not meeting the criteria to help them graduate school. Many of the students were behind in credits, but once beginning school here, progressed quickly.

Students at the school participated in the AIMS series of tests with percentages of students passing the exam in 10th grade included 54% in reading, 10% in science, 29% in writing, and 26% in math which were all below state averages.

It would be in your best interest to learn more about the curriculum and the school itself as the number of students passing the exam is quite below state averages. In order for students to graduate from high school, they must pass this exam as required by the Department of Education.
