Ipakanni Early College Charter School opened in 2010 for students in grades 9th through 12th. The Maidu culture is used for the basis of the curriculum. This provides a rigorous environment that focuses on each student and his/her potential. The population at this school is mainly Native American.
The approach at Ipakanni is to give the students the necessary tools to become successful in their futures. Courses include the core subjects as well as a strong focus on the arts with clay creatures and music classes where the students are challenged to create their own beautiful music.
Parents love the approach of learn by doing that Ipakanni Early College Charter School uses. With a project base curriculum, students get to see results at that time to learn what works and what does not. A few students expressed they would like to see sports offered at the school.
The Academic Performance Index showed no results at this time.
The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.
The results of the exams were not available.
It would be a good idea to take a tour of the school as well as talk with other parents and teachers before enrolling your child. The learning environment should meet the needs of your child.
