Kenter Canyon Charter School opened in 1993 for students in kindergarten through 5th grades. The school provides a comprehensive approach to instruction in the classroom with by adding learning activities from all subjects around a common theme. The school prides itself on providing cooperative and hands on learning for students.

Along with core subjects, Kenter Canyon Charter School offers extra curricular activities for students that wish to participate which include drama, photography, film production, orchestra, dance, computer arts, drawing, sculpture, chorus, and band. Sports available are baseball, physical education classes, gymnastics, yoga, tennis, track, softball, track, martial arts, field hockey, golf, basketball, cheerleading, ultimate Frisbee, soccer, and football. Other programs are yearbook, science & technology, community service, student council, and academic contests.

The parents do not agree on the benefits of having their children attend Kenter Canyon Charter School. A few are very happy with the education their children are receiving, while others are concerned that in the last few years the teachers do not seem as devoted. Parents reported staff and teachers are always changing. Students stated they like going to school here and most of the teachers.

The Academic Performance Index showed a decline in academic growth from 953 to 945. The statewide goal is 800.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.
The percentage of students passing the exams at Kenter Canyon Charter School was above state average across all grade levels and subjects.

Even with the comments of a few parents that the school is not performing as it was, the exams scores show the school and teachers are doing an excellent job of providing a quality education. It would still be a good idea to take a tour of the school prior to enrolling your child.
