KIPP: Delta College Preparatory School is a unique charter school that goes beyond core subjects to ensure students are receiving a high quality education. The school provides an education to students in 5th through 8th grades. Along with core subjects, students that wish to join other extra curricular activities have the opportunity to join band, dance, debate, basketball, or track.

Parents are very pleased and even excited with KIPP: Delta College Preparatory School. They expressed that the strict structured environment is what their children need to succeed. The school does not tolerate bullying, disrespect of others, and expects all students to achieve excellence. The only downside is that the school does not have enough sports or clubs. It is mainly based on academics with long school days. The only sports available are track and basketball and the only club is debate. Most students would like to see more computer clubs or technology clubs.

The school is providing an excellent opportunity for students to succeed. Parents were very happy to see that the majority of students were passing the Benchmark exams as beforehand at a different school, most of their children were struggling to learn and often failing classes. At KIPP: Delta College Preparatory School, students are now learning above their grade level and enjoying going to school. Students love all the great trips such as canoeing that gives them a chance to be themselves instead of just sitting at a desk all day, but of course, students explained you must earn the trips and even your desk.

It would be in your best interest to learn more about the curriculum and to ensure that the school fits your family and your child. A good way to do this is by talking with parents that have children enrolled as well as take a tour of the school.
