La Tierra Community School opened in 2011 for students in kindergarten through 8th grades. The school is a bit different from other charter schools as it has affiliated with Prescott College and Expeditionary Learning Schools to offer a curriculum and environment that will help students excel.
Since the school recently opened, there are not many reviews from parents or students. We have to look at the curriculum, environment, and staff to learn more about the quality of the school as well as the results of testing.
The school provides an active and challenging environment where hands-on learning is of the utmost importance. Students learn by doing and then apply the skills to solve real world issues. Teachers and staff work to ensure that every student has the opportunity to achieve a quality education via a nurturing and caring environment with the goal of promoting life long learners.
All students did very well in the AIMS series of tests with the percentage of students passed or exceeding the exam were above average for the state.
It would be best to tour the school and learn more about the environment, curriculum, and how the students are performing since there is not much available information.
