Mandarin Language Academy also known as Riverview Elementary opened in 2010 for students in kindergarten through 8th grades. The school offers a unique Mandarin Chinese and English immersion program. On average, the school has an enrollment of 120 students per year.

Along with core subjects, Mandarin Language Academy offers accelerated reader, arts attack, GATE, seven habits, study island, My NutriKids, technology and for clubs and activities students can participate in chorus, junior Olympics, Run for the Arts, Science Club, and Student Council.

Parents are very impressed with the challenging curriculum that is helping their children become more involved with learning. Most parents expressed that the teachers are highly qualified and very helpful. Students stated they like their teachers and all the fun activities the school offers.

The Academic Performance Index showed in an increase in academic growth from 818 to 864.The statewide goal is 800.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades. The results were only available for 4th graders with 69% passing the English Language Arts exam with the state average at 67% and in math 77% passed with the average at 71%.
