Mission Montessori Academy opened their charter school in 2001 in Scottsdale for students in kindergarten through 5th grades. On average, the school has 225 students enrolled per year. The school encourages a four-way partnership with the school, community, students, and parents. Along with core subjects, the school promotes social activities including dance, drama, drawing, orchestra, band, computer arts, physical education classes, gymnastics, martial arts, basketball, soccer, community service, and science & technology.
Parents expressed they were very pleased with the school stating their children are growing both socially and academically. The school provides an excellent environment for open minded and future thinking families. The teachers are very nurturing and work with students to help them reach their goals as well as being available for parents for any reason. The students are taught to think for themselves in an ever-changing world while being provided with the educational tools they need to enter college or the workforce. A few parents stated that in the last few years the school is more focused on growing than working with the students that are attending their school at the present time.
Students at Mission Montessori Academy participated in the AIMS series of exams. The percentages of students that passed or exceeded the exams were above average in all core subjects.
Since the percentages of students passing the exams were higher than state averages, you can tell the teachers and school are providing a quality education to students and ensuring they are receiving the education they need to succeed.
