Monroe Middle opened in 2007 for students in 5th though 8th grades. The school offers a diverse learning environment as well as student population. The student body population is 53% Hispanic or Latino and 25% White with a smaller population of other ethnicities including Asian, African American, Filipino, Pacific Islander, and American Indian

The entire community is glad that Monroe Middle School opened in their area. The school is providing students with the opportunity to receive a quality education in a quality and safe learning environment.

Along with core subjects, Monroe Middle is proud of their athletic departments. Students enjoy participating in cross-country, soccer, volleyball, and basketball. At this time, other clubs and extra curricular are not available.

Parents that have students attending the school are not only proud of the school but also their students. Parents expressed they have noticed a huge change after their children starting attending the middle school. Most stated they children now want to go to school and are very interested in learning. Students love the school, teachers, and principal. They expressed that the teachers listen and really understand them as well as help them with any problems they may have.

The Academic Performance Index showed academic growth from 779 to 790.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.

Students at Monroe Middle did very well with the exams. In the majority of the exams, more than half of each grade level passed the exams. Parents stated they are very proud of the students that are working harder each year to learn and to pass these exams. Most parents expressed that the scores had increased over the previous year, which shows them the school is performing very well and providing their children with a quality education.
