Parents are very happy with the way their children are learning and adjusting. Most expressed the teachers and staff is great with caring and nurturing people that work with each child individually to ensure their success. On the other hand, a few parents and students are not happy that the school does not have a cafeteria and students must eat outdoors. The school has a bully problem as stated by a couple of students and the bathrooms are now locked due to students writing on the walls. One parent was very upset that the school runs out of food for the students and that students are eating outside with temperatures in the 100’s.
To see if the school is providing the educational tools students need to succeed, you can look at the percentage of students that passed the AIMS exams. Seventh graders were below average by 20% in reading, writing, and math. Eighth graders were also below average in reading by 11%, 39% in science, and 3% in writing, and 12% in math. Tenth graders did better by being above average in reading by 2% and 5% in math, but science and writing were below average.
