Northland Preparatory Academy opened their charter school in 1996 for students in 7th through 12th grades. The school has around 300 students per year enrolled. The school provides personalized programs of study along with activities such as drawing, chorus, band, dance, orchestra, drama, photography, bicycling, basketball, volleyball, cross-country, golf, physical education classes, tennis, softball, track, ultimate Frisbee, yearbook, and student council.
All remarks by parents and students regarding Northland Preparatory Academy were positive. The learning environment is perfect with nurturing teachers that work with students individually. Most students that enrolled from other schools began to improve in their grades quickly. The students are enjoying school, being motivated, showing more self-confidence, and becoming life long learners. Class sizes are small which is even better for one on one learning.
Percentage of students in 7th, 8th, and 10th graders passing the AIMS exams in all core subjects were higher than state averages.
From comments of parents and students along with the AIMS scores, the school seems to be a great place for students to learn and to become productive members of their society. Of course, you should still tour the school and make sure it is a fit for your child.
