Personalized Academics and Computer Education (PACE) Preparatory Academy opened their Prescott campus in 2002 to provide students with an alternative to public education. The school provides educational tools via a completely computer driven approach to students in 9th through 12th grades. The school does not offer any extra curricular activities, sports, or student clubs.
Parents had mixed reviews about the school. Some parents are excited about the school and the way their children are learning however, other parents stated that in the beginning, the school was excellent but it has gone downhill over the last few years. A few of the issues include safety while at school as well as teachers that are not as attentive as before.
If you look at the percentage of students that passed the AIMS series of tests it is disappointing. Most would imagine that students attending such a small school would score better than average or at least be in the average range when it comes to core subjects, however, across all core subjects the percentage of students that passed the exams were well below state averages. In reading, 23% below average, 3% below in writing, and in math 5%.
Before enrolling your child, it would be best if you learn more about the curriculum and talk with other parents to ensure the school is a good fit for your child.
