USC Hybrid High opened in 2012 to offers a program for students in 9th grade that are at risk. The school plans to expand each year until they can serve students in 9th through 12th grades. The school is affiliated with the USC Rossier School of Education.
The school does not provide any student clubs, sports, or extra curricular activities but centers on job training and achieving a high school diploma.
Both parents and students are very pleased that the school opened in their area to provide students with the opportunity to learn in a wonderful safe learning environment. Many students are excited to attend the school that works with their talents to help them succeed. Some students stated they would like to see more activities and sports offered. Parents stated they have noticed improvement in their children’s attitude regarding attending school after they started going to USC Hybrid High.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.
The percentage of students passing the exams was not available at the time of this writing.
