Vantage Point Charter opened in 1993 to offer students a school setting that provides students in kindergarten through 12th grades with a curriculum with a technology focus. The school uses computers as learning tools to help students be prepared for our ever-changing world of technology. The school offers on site special arts classes, on site math tutoring, community enrichment classes, on site library, computer lab, and science lab.

Parents like the opportunities the school provides for their children. Most parents expressed that the school is safe and that students really like attending school and learning in a new and fascinating way. The majority of students love working on the computers and their teachers. Some students did express disappointment that the school does not offer any sports.

The Academic Performance Index declined 16 points to 682. The statewide goal is 800. Parents are talking with teachers and administration to see how they can help raise the score.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.

The percentage of students passing the exams was not available at the time of this writing.

the California High School Exit Exam tests 10th graders mastering skills in English language arts and mathematics. 82% of students passed the English exam with the state at 83% and in math 67% passed with the state average at 84%. Parents would like to see the percentage increase but are glad that the percentage is higher than the previous year.
