Village School opened in 2006 to provide the community with a quality education facility that offers families the chance to be involved with their children’s education. The school serves kindergarten through 5th grades.
Along with the core subjects, the school offers a wide array of activities throughout the year, which include family camping trip, class meetings, and field trips.
Parents love the school and the family involvement. Most parents are thrilled with the whole child curriculum and the way students are treated with respect by teachers and staff. Students really enjoy the school, like their teachers, and love the activities offered. Some parents expressed that the school stresses more on enrichment classes than core subjects.
The Academic Performance Index declined 5 points to 946. The statewide goal is 800. Parents are very pleased with the score as well as the API statewide rank of 10 out of 10.
The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.
The percentage of students passing the exams was above average across all grade levels and all subjects.
The school is providing a wonderful education in a safe and nurturing environment. To learn if the environment is one that will fit your family; you should take a tour of the school.
