The SAT has changed dramatically, so this information must be updated!

Studying for the SAT

  • Get a copy of The Official SAT Study Guide (AKA, "The Blue Book"). It is published by the College Board and is currently on its 2 edition, published in 2009. You can find it on Amazon here: The Official SAT Study Guide
  • If you want to get better at the SAT, you must practice. This course will teach you lots of strategies, but it's up to you to practice.
  • When you first start studying, make sure to begin by taking a full-length practice test from the book. Score yourself, and figure out what you need to practice most.
  • Regularly practice the SAT. Do at least one section a day, and try to take a practice test every couple of weeks.
  • Watch the rest of this course and apply what you learn to your practice sessions.
  • If you want to focus on one section in specific, Educator.com has Section-specific lessons to help you prepare. First watch the lessons in this course on the section you want to study, then check out the Section-specific lessons.
  • Depending on how much time you have until the test, you'll want to approach studying in different ways. Watch this lesson's video to see various recommended timetables.
