Where does the n>=30 come in to play in this example??

Applications of the Sampling Distribution of the Sample Mean

  • The sample mean can be standardized (converted to a “z-score”) by subtracting μ from x and dividing by the difference by x’s standard deviation.

  • Draw a picture of the curve and shade in the interval of which you want to find the probability.
