Would not the absolute value of -18 be 18.
The absolute value of +7 is 7, adding the two would be 25.

  • Adding Integers with Opposite Signs
    1. Find the absolute value of each integer
    2. Subtract lesser absolute value from greater
    3. Difference takes the sign of the integer with the greater absolute value
