In this lesson, our instructor Ron Schooler gives an introduction to major conflicts that dominate the 20th century causing both attempts toward peace and toward intensifying conflicts. He discusses groups and individuals that oppose war, Buddhists in South Vietnam, the Malcolm Browne photo, MLK and non-violence as a political tactic, segregation forever, opposing the status quo in China, Tiananmen Square protest, military answer is more military, terrorism as a method, IRA institutes 'The Long War' strategy, and popular culture influenced.
